Dawn and Nigel, the co-founders of The Pinelli Group, fell in love with a beautiful part of Italy many years ago. They felt a strong desire to share the ‘authentic’ Italy they had found in the Cilento area with others looking for the real Italy. With a lifetime of experience in property development, investment, and interior design, they established The Pinelli Group in 2017.
The Story of Casa Tramonto
Casa Tramonto was to be the second property restoration in their portfolio and the most ambitious yet. Set on a 20,000 sqm estate facing the Cilento National Park, this 200-year-old farmhouse ruin was named “Tramonto,” which translates to sunset in English. You only have to watch the stunning sunsets from the terrace to understand why!
Casa Tramonto Before
From ruin to regal, Casa Tramonto, nestled in a prime hillside location near the coastal medieval town of Agropoli, oozed potential. Nigel and Dawn had the vision to transform this once-forgotten property into the luxury five-bed, five-bath showstopper country house it is today.
Restoring Casa Tramonto
Upon acquiring the building on Tenuta Pinelli, The Pinelli Group began restoring the past and honoring the building’s legacy while bringing to life their vision of a beautiful country house that maximized the sweeping sea and countryside views and crafted an expansive indoor-outdoor living space that embodies refined luxury.
The restoration began in late January 2021 after being delayed through 2020 due to events that took place around the world. With an exceptionally dedicated team behind The Pinelli Group, superb coordination, and many 12-hour days, 7 days a week, the restoration and build were carried out tirelessly over a very warm summer in Italy that year, with work completed by September 2021, when Casa Tramonto welcomed its first co-owners.
Unveiling Casa Tramonto
5 Bed | 5 Bath | 300sqm living space | 200 sqm terraces
Today, this expansive four-bedroom, four-bath main house comes complete with an annex with an independent entrance, comprising one further bedroom and an ensuite bathroom. The stunning property has an exceptional exterior, with lots of terraced space and a dining and lounge area beneath a covered wooden pergola. Further terraces below, an infinity pool with sun beds, and uninterrupted views across the rolling hillsides of Campania complete the picture.
Inside, the interior designed spaces emanate Italian chic. Rich velvets, natural materials, and antique accents harmonize with underfloor-heated stone floors and contemporary touches. Casa Tramonto’s four beautiful en-suite double bedrooms and private guest annex provide exceptional spaces in which to relax. The state-of-the-art kitchen, elegant dining room, and cinema-equipped lounge cater to seamless entertaining. Casa Tramonto is the perfect blend of sophistication and charm, offering a delightful mix of Italian rusticity and modern functionality.
Always wanting to add an extra “WOW” element to the co-owners bedrooms and spaces, Dawn designed the uber-luxurious owners’ bathroom. With opulent chandeliers over the gorgeous roll-top bath, gold finishes, and antique mirrors, the final result has captivated all who visit this property.
Whether you are looking for a vacation home to share with family or socialize with friends, then Casa Tramonto has it all. Underfloor heating and AC run throughout, and there is an addition of a log-burning fire, so you’ll be warm and cozy in the winter months and cool in the hotter months. This part of Italy benefits from a temperate climate most of the year, but the gorgeous infinity pool remains at a delightful temperature all year round.
