From drab to fab! Villa Velius, a house for all seasons, has been meticulously restored and upgraded since its acquisition by The Pinelli Group. Follow the journey of this once-forgotten house and its incredible transformation into the elegant, spacious abode it is today.
Villa Velius Before
The vision of Villa Velius began when The Pinelli Group’s husband-and-wife team, Dawn and Nigel Carley, came across a property near the quaint town of Ogliastro Cilento in Southern Italy. Its prominent position, high up on the hillside overlooking the spectacular countryside that Campania is known for, offered an exquisite setting for a property nestled in nature and yet just 10 minutes to the coast. In need of a vast transformation, they set to work!
The Renovation of Villa Velius Begins
With the vision set, the hard work began. With teamwork and skilled architects and contractors, the dream property began coming to life. Fast-forward to early 2023, and the interior spaces had begun taking shape. Energy-saving alternatives and sustainability features included a 21kW solar power system to provide the property’s electricity and a brand new roof fitted.
By November 2023, Villa Velius was nearing completion. The property’s interior design showcased warm Chestnut wooden beams with calm, warm tones accentuating each space, elevated with sumptuous fabrics and decorative pieces throughout.
The Finale: Villa Velius After
Now, a beautiful three-story luxury villa overlooking the countryside and the Amalfi Coastline, expansive areas dazzle where you can kick back and relax. A seamless blend of indoor and outdoor living with tons of light and bright areas runs throughout. Furnished balconies, sumptuous seating, and endless outside space make this an exquisite villa with all the comforts of modern living without compromising its Italian charm. The Location
Villa Velius has excellent transport links and is less than 90 minutes from Naples International Airport and approximately 30 minutes drive from the new Salerno Costa d’Amalfi Airport.
The property is within a 10-minute drive from the coast and the gorgeous medieval village of Agropoli, with its cobbled historic center, castle, and Lungomare stretching along the beach and dotted with bars and restaurants. Some of Campania’s best wine can be tasted just around the corner from Villa Velius, and the area’s famous white Cilento figs are a must-taste at the nearby Santomiele fig factory. Add in the close-by historical wonders of The Paestum Greek Temples and award-winning Cilento beaches, and you will realize that Villa Velius is the perfect spot from which to explore authentic Southern Italy – if you can tear yourself away from the house, that is!
