Your exquisite stay will be in one of the luxury Pinelli properties, each offering its distinct charm. From an elegant apartment in a 500-year-old Palazzo in the historic center of Campagna, to a rustic country house, or spacious modern villa, close to the medieval town of Agropoli, you will discover why people fall in love with Campania!
Once an ancient oil mill, the Santomiele Fig Laboratory in the picturesque hilltop hamlet of Prignano Cilento is more akin to a beautiful boutique hotel and high-end restaurant than a factory. Enter through the grand doors, with the waft of the sweet smell of the figs drying in the sun and learn all about the Dottato, white fleshed figs which only grow in this region. Plenty of opportunities to taste these intriguing local delicacies.
Step into the heart of Campania with Chef Mikka, where every session brings the warmth of a southern Italian kitchen. Learn to craft fresh pasta, rich tomato-based sauces, and dishes layered with local fresh ingredients like buffalo mozzarella, garlic, and basil, all steeped in tradition and Italian soul. Picture flour-dusted counters, the comforting aroma of rosemary and garlic wafting through the kitchen, a glass of wine in hand, and Mikka’s hands-on, no-fuss style, you’ll cook like a true nonna in no time.
A visit to Campania is not complete without tasting the region’s excellent wines. Vineyards grow wild with fennel and mint, sitting 500-700 metres above sea level. The mountains in the background and views out to the sea and the Amalfi coast offer a unique microclimate, along with limestone and clay soil that produce high-quality, crisp white wines, such as Falanghina, Greco, and the region’s famously produced Pian Di Stio, an organic Fiano. Soft full-bodied reds like Jungano are produced from the Aglianico grapes, which flourish here. Savor a tasting at the winery of San Salvatore 1988, a producer of some of Italy’s finest wines for nearly four decades—an essential stop on any culinary journey through the region.
This summer, visit Campania and immerse yourself in the local gastronomic festivals. Join the Sagre, where the community comes together to celebrate food and drink, accompanied by delightful local music and traditions. It’s a unique opportunity to experience Italy’s rich agricultural heritage and culinary history.
